Previous position (2009 - 2010): Commander Special Police Department EULEX-Kosovo
Previous position (2008): Senior Policy-advisor Department of General Policy Affairs in the Ministry of Defence at The Hague [political and policy advisor for the Minister of Defence and Secretary of Defence, preparation and personal advising the Minister for the weekly cabinet meeting, written correspondence with parliament]
Previous position (2003-2007): District Commander Royal Marechaussee [member of the Management Board Royal Marechaussee and Commanding Officer for all Marechaussee-duties in initially the provinces Noord-Holland / Utrecht and at the Dutch Antilles (Caribbean)(800 personnel), and later in the 6 north-east provinces in The Netherlands (1100 personnel)]

Relevant functions and side functions:

2003 Appointed (honorary) judge in the criminal courts in Hertogenbosch (NL), side function during 2 days each month.
1993 - 2007 NL Disaster Victim Identification Team (R.I.T.), team leader technical identification. Side function, operated in several victim identification operations in The Netherlands and commanded 2 identification operations abroad (Bali bomb incident, Tsunami Thailand).
1998 - 2002 Head of Police Amsterdam Airport Schiphol [commanding officer responsible for aviation security, police functions and criminal investigations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol] (800 personnel and 1100 civil security personnel).

1994 - 1996 Liaison officer / police advisor at the Prosecutors Office in Haarlem on behalf of the police duties and criminal investigations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

International experiences:

2009 - 2010 Head of Special Police Department EULEX-Kosovo; Commanding officer of EULEX special police units: 4 CRC companies, Intervention Group, Close Protection Unit, Surveillance Unit, K9 Unit, EOD Unit and Logistic Support Unit. In total 650 international (EU) police officers.
2004 - 2005 Team leader and national representative in the international Thailand Tsunami Victim Identification operation.
2002 Team leader and national representative in the international disaster victim identification operation at the Kuta bomb incident in Bali, Indonesia.
2001 Preparation and execution of aviation security inspections in India, Indonesia and Thailand.
1993 - 1994 Preparation Danube operation (West European Union) in Romania and Hungary.
