ANCOP Commander and EUROGENDFOR Representative in Afghanistan visit Mazar-e Sharif Forces

EGF Mentor to ANCOP Forces

Colonel Jérôme DELCAMBRE was deployed in September 2015 as the new EUROGENDFOR Mentor of the Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) Commander.

Colonel DELCAMBRE has a good experience of Afghanistan as he was already deployed twice in the EUROGENDFOR framework in Mazar-e-Sharif (2009/2010) and Wardak (2011/2012).

From the very beginning of his tour of duty, he has actively assumed the demanding role of advising the ANCOP Commander, Major-Général Zamaraï, as well as his staff, both at HQ and field levels.

This month of November, the EUROGENDFOR officer had the opportunity to accompany the ANCOP Commander throughout his 3 days visit to the 3rd Brigade Units based at Mazar-e Sharif.
During this trip, they participated to:

  • an operational meeting of all armed and security forces acting in Mazar-e-Sharif: this working
session chaired by MG Zamaraï with the Governor, the, 3rd ANCOP Brigade Commander, the
chief of the Afghan Uniformed Police as well as the 209th Afghan National Army regional Corps
  • a meeting with all ANCOP Battalions officers, which gave the opportunity to address practical
issues related to ammunitions, winter uniforms, etc.

This duty trip was also an opportunity to work on the ongoing project of the future National Training Center for ANCOP, which is to be set up shortly.
